Parents
enjoy getting information and support from the Internet. Not
only is there a wealth of information, but also a weath of
support for you as a parent. If you are new to computers and
need help learning to use a computer, browser, or need help
navigating the Internet, did you know you can take free classes?
Each branch of the Cuyahoga County Library has classes offered
regularly for free. Call your closest library and and ask
for information on how you can sign up. You can also find
out how to get a free e-mail account.
Searching
the Internet is very popular with parents of special needs
children. Parents today want to know all their options, and
many are interested in finding alternative or "natural"
treatments for their kids. When you are searching for medical
information, be sure to check the source of the information.
Is it a reputable source? Even some pharmaceutical companies
have been in trouble recently for overselling the benefits
of drugs they develop and sell. One recommendation is to gather
information from several different sources about your topic.
When you have the information gathered, be sure to check with
a trusted medical professional, such as your pediatrician,
before trying any special diets, vitamin therapies, or other
treatments for your child. Herbs and other vitamin therapies
bought at the health food store could possibly be dangerous,
especially for a small child.
